Five Dutchess County (NY) dispatchers and operations director Pat Calamari have relocated to Broome County’s 911 center to help out employees there who worked almost non-stop during last week’s torrential rains that caused flooding and other damage. Senior Dispatcher Gary Coon and dispatchers Phil Thompson, Mark Karn, Sharon Tuttle and Peggy Mulligan worked 10 to 12 hours each to give their fellow dispatchers some relief from work, and also allow them to take care of their own families and homes. Broome County 911 director Brett Chellis said several of the dispatchers’ homes had been damaged by flood waters.
