The CAMEO software program has turned 20 years old, but is still being developed and expanded by its parent, the federal National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The now-classic Computer-Aided Management of Emergency Operations software was developed in 1986 in conjunction with firefighters in the Seattle (Wash.) area to generate HAZMAT plume trails. It has been downloaded over 200,000 times and is used by agencies world-wide. Find more information here, or information about their annual conference here.
