Officials in San Juan County (NM) are releasing few details about the crash of a van on U.S. Highway 64 in mid-May that claimed the lives of four occupants. One of the victims made at least 11 calls to 911, but said he wasn’t sure of his location. The crash site wasn’t found for several hours. Officials said that at least one of the 911 calls could have been located by using the latitude and longitude provided by Phase II gear. They would not name the involved dispatcher, but said corrective actions had been taken to prevent the delay from occurring again. Read the story here.
