The Pennsylvania State Police say in a press release that the Lancaster barracks will start a pilot program to test the new Statewide Public Safety Radio System and, “give troopers, first responders and local officials the ability to coordinate their safety and response efforts more effectively and improve public safety.” You may recall that the state chose M/A-Com to implement an 800 MHz trunked radio system back in 1999 and it has been controversial ever since.
