Polk County (Iowa) and Qwest Communications International Inc. have settled a lawsuit filed by the family of a man who died of a heart attack in a 2003 incident where paramedics responded to the wrong address. Both the county and company had previously denied any liability in the incident, but the family will received a $25,000 from each party. According to court documents, the man’s wife dialed 911 and gave the calltaker the correct address. However, the ANI/ALI information was inaccurate and was given to responding units, leading to a 20-minute delay.
