Sprint Nextel announced they have created an “advisory board to provide key insight from the public safety community” on the 800 MHz band reconfiguration, saying the panel would counsel the company, “on reconfiguration implementation issues from a public safety perspective.” Members so far are Stephen Browne of Denver City-County, David Seidel of San Bernardino County and Chief Charles Werner of Charlottesville (Virg.). In a press release, the company didn’t explain what prompted the board’s creation, why they hadn’t solicited public safety input previously, or if members of the board will be compensated.
