The state of radio communications is nowhere better demonstrated than the inaugural column by Capt. Eddie Reyes on the PoliceOne.com Web site, sponsored by Cisco Systems. He writes an excellent explanation of interoperability, but doesn’t explain why a computer networking company would be paying to sponsor the column. Cisco is targeting public safety agencies for sales of traditional data networks, but also for mobile data, video and even IP radio applications. Check here for details.
