APCO and several other public safety groups have written a joint letter to a U.S. House of Representatives committee stating their position that provisions of proposed legislation should not prevent the FCC’s enforcement of existing VoIP/E911 regulations. The groups (IACP, IAFC, NSA, MCSA) are concerned that the law might water down current rules that require VoIP providers to implement full E911 service for all telephone customers.
